"This place is very basic but cheap but is close to Lyon Airport, a petrol station is about 1km away. But the room, shower, toilet and bed linen was spotlessly clean. I had the choice of 5 beds in my room and the one I used was comfortable. My room had a TV with some premium channels, a microwave, fridge and air conditioning that worked. "Stay here you won’t regret it.Fabulous hidden gem. What can I say? Just blown away by this hotel. Set in a breathtaking area which is just like being back in Florence. The hosts were just delightful and we loved listening a reading the picture book to how this family owned home was renovated to the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and filled with local made goods. "La chambre est très spacieuse et parfaitement rénovée. Tout est impeccable (douche, télé, lit, table et chaises pour manger, accès possible à une cuisine), mais par contre nous avons eu très froid ! Certes il y a un radiateur, mais bloqué sur 16⁰, et vu la température extérieure et l'isolation, il faisait bien frais dans la pièce. Ce n'est pas agréable, nous avons dû dormir avec plusieurs couches de vêtements. Dommage car sinon c'était cool, mais ça nous a vraiment gâché la nuit."

"Nice little hotel but they didn’t provide basic stuff. No hair conditioner, no body lotion. Second day they gave us shampoo… other than that it was okay. The room was really tiny. Hard to have space for our luggage. "

"Armand (owner) was very helpful, even though I was only there for a very short time. He allowed me a flexible check in and was very friendly. He brought breakfast to my room in the morning. I didn't really explore the area but I know Lyon fairly well. It was a 20 minute walk to Part-Dieu Station but of course you could get a direct bus or tram easily. A taxi cost me £13 from Part Dieu to the property. It is exactly as described."

"From start to finish our stay at the property was easy. We had parking and a key fob to come and go as we needed. The duplex itself was perfect for our family of 5. "Old, damaged furniture and half-functioning old appliances. Unmaintained garden and a mishmash of old garden furniture. It may still be appreciated from an ecological perspective, but then it must also be sold as such at a suitable price. The hostess is capricious in her hospitality and several times gives us the feeling that our presence ruins her French idyll. She makes unreasonable threats when confronted with criticism. "This was a lovely place to stay for a short business trip. The staff were really kind, both fluent in English and allowing me to practice my French! The spa and jacuzzi are also excellent and highly recommended, with equally kind and professional staff. My only complaint is that the complimentary espresso pods and teabags weren't refreshed after my first night, so I ended up heading out across the road for a morning coffee on my second day. Otherwise, everything was spotless, welcoming, and comfy!"

"The Fourviere is a staggeringly lovely hotel in a beautifully renovated period property. Our room had a great view of the Cathederal and was easy walking distance from both funiculars. The breakfast was very good and offered lots of options to suit my dairy intolerance. The indoor spa and outdoor heated pool were very relaxing. "

Outstanding staff

"Check in is on floor 32. We were greeted by wonderful knowledgeable staff and our room was on the 37th floor. The room was a great size and absolutely spotless. The bathroom was perfect with everything you need. The hotel is in a good position for shopping, however transport is difficult due to the construction works. If I have one negative then it's the heat in the room which is far too hot. We will definitely be back that's for sure. "

"This is a wonderful hotel in which to stay the night before an early-morning flight out of Lyon. The location could not be better, just across the street from the terminal. The front desk staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The room was spectacularly clean and very, very comfortable -- with a marvelous bed. The restaurant had very good food and an excellent waitstaff. Highly recommended."
