"Staff all excellent. Rooms clean and comfortable. Heating too hot and uncontrollable, eg no thermostatic valves. Bedroom corridor doors need silent closing. Breakfast good, evening meal adequate as limited menu and poor quality burgers. Plenty of character and bar busy."

"Marston's itself was excellent.surperb food and great satisfying breakfast. The hotel rooms were small and a bit dated and requires refurb. Can be very hot and music plays until midnight. However we did enjoy our stay and would return."

"The Old Red Lion Inn was great for my two night visit to the area. I arrived in Cambridge by train and chose to stay at the Old Red Lion as it was on a good bus route to Haverhill. The staff were all friendly and welcoming which makes a difference and important to me anywhere I stay. My room was fine and the continental breakfast bag delivered to my room was just what I needed. "We stayed on Sunday evening and arrived to a warm and cosy atmosphere. Our room had every we needed. It was quiet and all we could hear was bird song. We had that evening in the restaurant and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The beef roast was amazing. We stayed for breakfast on Monday morning and the selection and quality was excellent. We had a lovely stay and would stsy again, thank you. "
