"Apart from the room was very noisy due to the wind rattling doors and windows. the main problem was that we were asked to pay for the accommodation that we had already paid to Expedia. To clear the problem we had to phone internationally to our card provider to confirm the payment was made and then to Expedia to check to see if they had paid the guest house - they had. It cost about R250.00 in international telephone calls the guest house should have made not the guest. I requested that...

"Arrived in a rush to get the key & left for an event. Clean room and nice to find a welcome note, even after a late booking. Cabins are not very soundproof, which is understandable - however when neighbouring guests are having loud conversations at 3am, it is not ideal. Floors are also very cold, perhaps more mats can be provided."

Great tranquil and beautiful place.

"This property is next level amazing. The food is wonderful, the picnics, various restaurants, to say nothing of the wine. We stayed in a retreat cottage which is amazing and well appointed. The staff are great. I was with my wife and four year old daughter and we loved it all. My daughter did horse tours and we just had a truly perfect experience here staying for a week. It’s magical. The property is expansive and offer a lot of great things to do. The kids club is out of this world. The wine region around is so much fun. "

Charming boutique hotel in the perfect location

"Really enjoyed the stay here. Beautiful period property in the perfect location. Staff were all super friendly and warm. Our dinners at Helena’s were a particular treat. The room had an old-fashioned, but quaint and charming aesthetic that perfectly matched the vibe of the hotel. My one complaint would be the WiFi; which was super unreliable for the duration of our stay. It would regularly drop out for extended periods and when it did work; was very slow. Despite this one issue, I would definitely stay here again when we hopefully return to Stellenbosch. "
