CRIME AND SAFETY CLARIFICATION;
***As you may have read the USA put out a safety advisory on travel to the Bahamas. Please know that is ONLY for the two heavily populated large islands; New Providence and Grand Bahama. It is NOT for our island which is extremely safe with zero violent crime against tourists. It is similar to thinking the entire state of Michigan is dangerous because parts of the city of Detroit are dangerous. You can book your stay knowing you will be in a safe area on a safe island even for single female travelers.
***We charge a low $75 cleaning fee and no other host fees so there are no surprises when you go to book your stay. The only other fee you will see is the VRBO/HomeAway booking fee which they charge and keep.
***We keep things simple and charge a flat rate of $189 per night and 10% off weekly rentals and 20% off monthly rentals.
***This rental cottage is owned and operated by a local Bahamian family so the money you spend goes right back into the local economy which is pretty cool.
***Please note we do not accept any pets, emotional, support or therapy animals.
WHO WE ARE AS HOSTS;
You can book with confidence with us as we have been Premier Hosts with VRBO/Homeaway since 2016. We own and/or manage over 20 properties with many thousands of reviews online averaging 4.95 out of 5.0 stars. We only offer high quality, clean, value oriented properties that are in a safe and convenient location with an experienced staff.
GENERAL INFORMATION;
We offer FREE snorkel gear for 2 people, FREE beach chairs and beach umbrella, a FREE 2-person inflatable kayak and a FREE inflatable SUP (stand up paddle board). That alone is worth hundreds of dollars for a typical stay. We're in a perfect location just 3 miles north from Governor's Harbor with all the essentials such as; ATM, gas stations, food stores, liquor stores, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, boutique shopping, fresh seafood, medical clinic, police, incredible beaches and lots of other attractions. There is free on-site parking. We provide a ton of photos (we take personally) and caption each image so you know exactly what you are looking at and so you are informed before you book your stay. If we show a beach for example, we specifically caption the name of the beach and how far it is from our rental. Chris and Ashley, your on island hosts and owners of the cottage, provide all of the guests with the option to rent an SUV at a discounted rate. He will have the vehicle waiting for you at the airport you fly into so you can avoid those steep Taxi fees (over $100 each way in some cases) and you can leave the vehicle at the airport when you leave as well. We can hook you up with “the swimming pigs”, fishing, sharks, sea turtles, snorkeling and diving, cliff jumping, spearfishing, etc. He is the best boat / adventure captain in the Bahamas.
COTTAGE INFORMATION;
Eleuthera Vibes is a super cute free standing air conditioned classic Bahamian cottage with a small, but nice grassy yard with woods at the front and back. It is a friendly local Bahamian private road with a gate of about 5 nicely well-kept homes. The unit is bright and airy with fun Caribbean colors, palm tree and pineapple painted walls and lots of windows to let the natural outside light come into the interior. The cottage has been totally renovated with beautiful hardwood floors, fresh paint, new furnishings and decor and a newly added kitchen. It has free Wi-Fi with a strong signal for your laptop or cell phone. There is a 40" flat screen TV with a Firestick for streaming things like Netflix, Roku, Amazon Prime, etc. It sleeps 2 people (primarily couples) in a good quality bed frame and King Size mattress. It is really geared towards 2 people, but we offer the option of a couple with a small child age 12 and under. Just understand you will all be sleeping in the same bed. We do not allow 3 adults. There is a small, but functional galley style full kitchen. The kitchen is brand new and was just added in March of 2022. There is a two burner cook top, microwave, nice full size toaster oven for baking, mini fridge, kitchen sink and all the kitchen items you need to enjoy meals at home; coffee maker, wine glasses, coffee cups, drinking glasses, plates, bowls, silverware, cutting boards, pots and pans etc. Of course you also have the basics such as; paper towels, dish towel, sponge, dish soap, trash bags, seasonings and salt n pepper. There is a small and cute seating area in the corner of the master bedroom to enjoy meals. There is a semi-covered deck off the front of the cottage with a small table and two chairs for al-fresco outside dining. There is a nice vanity sink with storage and shelves in the en-suite master bathroom area along with a lovely custom tiled walk in shower with a rain shower head in the ceiling along with a separate toilet closet room. We also provide a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, linens, quilts, pillows and pillow cases, beach, hand and bath towels, toilet paper, etc. There are two beach chairs and one beach umbrella also provided. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION; We are located just 3 miles from Governor’s Harbor the capital. The location is fantastic for exploring all the way to the southern and northern island tips as you are right in the middle. The island’s best restaurants, bars, beaches and attractions are a 1 - 10 minute drive depending which place you're going. Just to name a few; you have Twin Coves Beach, French Leave Beach, Navy Beach, Airport Beach, Alabaster and Receivers Beach all very close by. Note; both French Leave and Twin Cove Beaches are two of the nicest beaches anywhere in the world and both are about 5 minutes away (see photos). The Sky Beach Club with Pascal’s swim up bar and restaurant is the coolest bar on the island hands down with great food and an amazing beach that's just 1-2 minutes from our cottage and YES you can use the pool at no charge. As for restaurants you have 1648 Restaurant, Tippy’s, Pascal’s, The Deck, Sunset Restaurant and Buccaneer Club, all 5 minutes away, to name a few. Those restaurants are some of the most sought after eateries on the whole island. There are tons of other beaches all with 5-15 miles from us not listed here. There are many more not listed. Some of the best snorkeling on the island and in the world is right across from us about one mile away on the ocean side....just ask Chris your caretaker. You have the world famous Friday Night Fish Fry street festival just 5 minutes away and also Ronnie’s the only real nightclub on the island also just 5 minutes. We are very close to many attractions also like the historical Haynes Library, Leon Levy Preserve, Edwin’s Sea Turtle Lake, etc. The island is 110 miles long with one long road going tip to tip with some very bad pot holes, so it is very important to pick a good home base location otherwise be prepared to do a lot of driving with $6 per gallon gas prices and some flat tires!
EXTRA PERKS STAYING WITH US;
Chris the owner and your on island host knows everything about the island and offers a discounted SUV rental as an option during your stay. He can arrange for you a ride from the airport also to avoid expensive taxes. The vehicles are in excellent condition and very nice comparatively speaking on the island. Chris is a very nice local Bahamian and a member of one of the most respected families on the island. He is always there if a guest ever has an issue. If you want tours for fishing, spearfishing, exploring, sea turtles, swimming with the pigs, snorkeling etc. we have the best captain in all of the Bahamas and have been using him for years. Our guests always get first dibs on any trip with him even if he’s busy. There is an outdoor grill, two beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We have a USB charger for your cell phone too. For guests needing laundry facilities, there is a laundromat just 5 minutes away. We offer an awesome 12 page trip planner document that provides tons of very helpful information about which airlines to use, renting vehicles, planning boating tours, swimming with the pigs, how to get to the island, the best beaches, the best bars and restaurants, and other adventures, etc. and that is only for our guests.
ELEUTHERA IS NOT FOR EVERYONE;
If Miami Beach or Vegas is your thing we respectfully suggest you pick a different destination. Eleuthera is a sleepy island with some flaws; bad roads, dated infrastructure, more frequent than back home power / water / internet outages, geckos sometimes will be in a home and painfully slow service at certain places. We say this because every year we get a guest that complains about the island and that is clearly the case of a guest going to the wrong destination for their vacation. In Eleuthera people are helpful and kind. It is unspoiled and gorgeous going back back 75 years in time. We know it well and have been there over 100 times and have many long-term Bahamian relationships. You will explore the most stunning beaches you have ever seen and have them usually all to yourself. Our cute and simple little cottage is a non-touristy "local Bahamian experience." If you want to avoid tourist traps and are the type of traveler that loves to experience the local culture in a safe and friendly great island location, this is your place!

Eleuthera Vibes is a superb value, a very cute n cozy rental cottage in an unbeatable location. You will be immersed in a local Bahamian neighborhood and meet the friendly and welcoming people. Some people are afraid to mix with the locals when traveling, until they come to Eleuthera and find out how warm and friendly the people are.
