Low Cay is a delightful cottage residence which exudes modern serenity in island living. This beautifully appointed villa is part of the distinguished Governors Harbour Collection, a select group of top tier rentals in all of Central Eleuthera, and is very centrally located in the historic settlement of Governor's Harbour.
This one bedroom cottage offers singles and couples a taste of local life combined with a five-star European standard of interior design, and is complete with modern amenities - including WiFi and air conditioning throughout.
The main living area at Low Cay features wonderfully tall ceilings that provide grandeur scale to the residence that its charming exterior keeps modestly hidden. This space combines an open-plan, well equipped kitchen and breakfast bar with a spacious and elegant lounge.
There is a full washer and dryer tucked away behind closet doors in the kitchen area. The living room includes comfortable sofas, a bespoke driftwood table, LED TV, a Bowers & Wilkins 'Zeppelin' docking station, and floating, translucent linen curtains.
The deluxe bathroom contains a large walk-in shower with a sand blasted glass privacy screen, and a hand-made driftwood console with twin basins. There is also an enclosed hot water shower to the side of the villa which provides a refreshing, al-fresco bathing alternative.
In the bedroom, a locally designed and constructed super-sized queen bed (66"W) and side tables - with an individually commissioned US box spring mattress - opens to a beautifully furnished lanai room through French doors. This fully screened area, which overlooks the secluded terraced and private landscaped garden, is a wonderful space to enjoy morning coffee, evening cocktails and dinner, or just simply relaxing! An electric grill is supplied for guests' use.
To the front of the villa, a full width terrace with extended sun deck offers extraordinary views of beautiful sunsets that fall over the harbour below.
Conveniently situated in the heart of the Governor’s Harbour community, Low Cay is a 2-minute drive away from the world-renowned French Leave beach - one of the finest beaches on the island and one of the great beaches of the Caribbean. The town of Governors Harbour is only a short walk downhill and includes grocery and liquor stores, a few favourite restaurants as well as a café and local bakery, ATM services, a local dive/fishing supply shop, and fresh fish and lobster for sale from fisherman at the town dock. The historic Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, and Wesley Methodist Church (c. 1883), are also located here.
The island of Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and paddle boarding are very popular water activities. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, bottomless blue holes, many unique beaches, historic churches, and many small villages and settlements to explore.
