The property was spacious and very cozy.
There were no instructions as to check out procedure, so we did the best we could.
The barbeque should be disposed of since it is dirty and greasy.
The septic system should be checked, since there were odors of effluence from time to time.
This is a beautiful house on a beautiful lake. We went up with 2 other couples for New Years weekend and had a great time. The house is just as advertised and we had everything we needed. We cooked on the grill for New Year’s Eve, played games, ate, toasted the new year and completed a puzzle. All great fun with close friends. Had a great walk the next day. The weather was unseasonably warm but there was a beautiful blanket of snow the morning we left. Our host Alan was very responsive and there was no problem with check in and directions for our stay were all outlined in a folder. I bet the place is fantastic in the summer too.
This was a great property. The stairs to the water were something unexpected, quite the climb and descent. Even though it was a very nice home the unusually hot NY summer made it a little uncomfortable for sleeping at night without ac in the house. The house was provided with several window fans but the heat and humidity was something to deal with. Again unusual for NY for that time of year. Overall we enjoyed our stay at this location.
We loved this vacation home. It was a bit quirky, very roomy, comfortable and homey. The views off the decks and out the windows are breathtaking. Sylvia lake is small but lovely. The bottom is small rocks so water shoes are a must. That lake water is crystal clear…the dock is perfect for our boat. There were 2 kayaks, life jackets and oars. You must be able to walk down stairs if you want to get to the water….a lot of stairs! If you aren’t a stair person the deck area is so nice. The only ac is in the upper bedroom and we had little breeze but it cooled down nicely at night. Our family group had a wonderful time!
We greatly enjoyed our week at Sylvia lake! The house is large, comfortable, and relaxing. The household supplies in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry were better than most rentals I have stayed in. We were able to cook a wide range of things because there were great pantry supplies and kitchen tools. There is a lovely view from 2 of the 3 decks and we enjoyed boating around the lake in the two kayaks that Alan provided. I highly recommend for 4-6 guests!
This property was great for a quick weekend getaway for us. The views were amazing and the lake was great for kayaking. The kids also loved playing hide-n-seek in the house! The house was as advertised. No wifi but no problem. It was good to unplug a bit. For our first time visiting the Thousand Islands region, it was a perfect home base with pretty drives up to AB and Boldt Castle. I would highly recommend this property. We will be back!
This house was absolutely beautiful!!! My finance and I came for a week in August. We brought our fishing boat and enjoyed trout fishing on the lake everyday. Loved swimming, and nearby awesome hiking :) this home could definitely accommodate a family and next time we will bring family and friends. The house is close to town (about 10 min) with a few restaurants and grocery stores. We also drove to Watertown one evening for a night our and loved Maggies on the river :) perfect getaway with stunning views!! Just what we needed to relax :)
Absolutely beautiful spot to relax and enjoy our family and friends. Alan was a super responsive host and the home and property were immaculate. Thank you for allowing our family to make wonderful memories!
A really wonderful property with a really great view of Sylvia Lake from a patio and 2 balconies! A lot of steps down to the dock, but good exercise. The lighting fixtures on the steps at night added a really great charm to the place. We heard the lovely call of loons every night and saw multiple loons every day. There was one good kayak on site for our use. There was a second blow up kayak that wasn't as good. But the owner didn't charge extra for their use. Would have been great if we had another good kayak on site. The property is VERY private with a little yard. The house was very clean and well maintained. We loved it.

The house is somewhat dated, but you cannot beat the view! It was amazing to wake up each day to see beautiful Sylvia Lake
The property is stunning! The stairs to the lake are pure insanity going down and up. If it rains during your stay, there is NOTHING to do. We tried contacting our host to get the WiFi password or some direction on how to get Netflix working. Crickets. The day trip to A-Bay was super fun.
Very enjoyable stay every single day. The house is gorgeous and spacious with enough room for everyone to be more than comfortable. The deck provides a gorgeous view of the lake and a very nice place to relax. Fishing is great on the dock and I was getting bites whenever I cast. The town is nearby and makes it convenient to get whatever you need. Would absolutely reccomend this property to anyone looking for a weekend getaway
This was a great property that we enjoyed for a long weekend. It is definitely off the beaten path and you want the turn by turn directions to get there from the owner. The views were amazing! The dock and lake were a perfect retreat and exactly what we hoped for. The house had everything we needed and the nearest town (a little under 15 minute drive) had a nice grocery store to get anything we didn’t bring. Owner was very responsive during our stay.

Nice getaway
My family and I enjoyed it. Some little first time rental hiccups but overall enjoyable. Be prepared to walk several stories down and up daily to the water. Daughter counted 89 steps. Though by day two your legs are starting to adjust and the stairs are beautiful lit up at night. Fishing was good too. There is a little bay to the left looking out from the dock. Public boat lunch there as well but far enough away. Anyways that spot was rife with fish namely sunnies, rock bass, trout, and bass. At one point the kids and I were catching something after every cast. It was so plentiful we got sick of catching all the sunnies and the kids only wanted to reel in the other catches.
