"A grade11 listed building with acres of old quirky charm. Staff were all very friendly and helpful at this very busy time of year (Christmas lunches and dinners) Many customers supported this inn which included a great local clientele. Log burners in bar area kept the place warm. Furnishings were all old and part of its charm is that nothing matches ! Dogs were welcome in the bar area and there is a friendly adopted cat ! Great breakfast with fresh ingredients. Landlord and staff made us very welcome Ideal location in village setting , close to Penselwood and Stourhead House and Gardens bordering Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. Bedroom was also very old, quirky and comfortable. "
