"Paid online. No one was there when we went to check in. Dogs growling at us viciously. We were forced to leave and find another place to stay. Still waiting to get our money back. I don't think that will happen as we have waited 4 days for a response to or email. Don't waste your money or time on this place. It states is 200 metres from centre of galle but its at least a 5000 rupee tuk tuk to get anywhere near galle city centre. Terrible experience, waste of my money."

"We loved our stay at Arabella. Loved the simplicity and size of the rooms. Kept very clean and tidy by the staff. Cute offering of bananas for supper in the room with the turn down service. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Pool area was on the small size but we had no problem using it when we wanted to. Kitchen and kitchen staff were A . "Wow.... we were blown away when we first arrived at the Villa even though we arrived during a big storm! We stayed over Christmas and New Year with my parents and my teenage boys and we all had a wonderful time. "The hotel has character but it is very basic. Breakfast is not available. There is no restaurant. The wifi mostly did not work. There was a complex device for showers that did not work properly and flooded the bathroom. The towels had seen better days. There was no TV. The room was not serviced in the three days I stayed in Galle. On the positive side, the location on Church St was excellent, the AC and fan both worked, there was a small fridge, and there was a pleasant balcony with chairs. The...
