"Lovely homely chalet with absolutely amazing views. Very well equipped. Great walks nearby. Few things a bit dated but the chalet has a lovely warm feel to it. The host was very helpful, answering our queries quickly and clearly had fantastic knowledge of the local area. Please note the hot tub is wood fired so takes a long time to warm up, so you do need to be around all day to get it warmed up which for us wasn't practical as we spent our days out exploring, "

Il est très bien situé si vous voulez être au calme des stations, qui restent très proches (mais qui sont bondées lors des vacances scolaires donc beaucoup de circulation pour y accéder, mais des navettes sont à disposition proche du châlet.) Des petites choses nous ont toutefois manquées comme davantage de produits de première nécessité pour...

"We really enjoyed our stay in Lamoura. The property is beautifully decorated and well appointed and there was a lot to do in the area, including running, cycling and swimming. The large garage was invaluable on rainy days for entertaining the kids and drying washing. My only gripe was the lack of transparency about linen hire, cleaning charges and the need for a 500 euro deposit, neither of which were mentioned in the listing, meaning I didn't bring a cheque book and had to sort it all out...

"Overall our stay was very enjoyable the chalet was very well equipped and spacious and the hot tub and pool table were a great addition . However, it would have been helpful to have some information relating to use of some of the appliances. We arrived early evening and were not given any introduction as the owner had left. After an 8 hour drive it would have been nice to have had some basic supplies as is normal for this type of property however, we had to go straight out again to find a shop....

"This chalet is off the beaten track- if the closest piste isn’t open ( it wasn’t for us) it is a 200m walk up a steep hill to get to your car. However, the reward for this is the most quiet, peaceful chalet we’ve ever stayed in - truly beautiful Marinelle and Pierre are perfect hosts - nothing was too much trouble. They advised and arranged things such as airport transportation for us. Pierre even brought us some amazing cheese and smoked sausage Can’t wait to go back !"

"The house itself is okay. Bedding was not like in the pictures. Beds were not made when we arrived. Had to search for sheets and put them on ourselves. The hot water seems to be controlled by the owner and it was turned off one night. Could not take showers until the morning. We did contact them but got no response. The upstairs bathroom door does not lock or close. Had to move a shelf in front of it to keep it closed. The middle bathroom has mold on the ceiling."

Beautiful views from the balcony and a perfect location for exploring the mountains. The centre of the village of Le Chinaillon is a short drive (or 20 min walk) and has a fantastic boulangerie and several restaurants. Le grand Bornand is larger and about a 10 minute drive. "La chalet est assez grand mais les prestations sont bien en deçà de ce qui serait légitime pour le prix. Le salon n'est pas dimensionné pour le nombre de couchages, les tables de cuisine sont hors du temps, le design, la déco sont authentiques voire vétustes, les tapis sont sales. La terrasse est intéressante, la cuisine pratique même si les ustensiles et batterie de cuisine ne sont pas renouvelés assez régulièrement. La vaisselle rangée était en partie sale."

"The property was exactly as described. Amazingly equipped kitchen, which was great as we ate in the whole time. You do need a car as the property is not near shops or restaurants. It should be ski in/out but they closed that side of the resort. We thoroughly enjoyed this chalet, its amazing views and facilities. Just a little odd no toilet in master en suite. Owners very responsive. Would recommend."
