"Nice little place with modern appliances, a good shower head, Roku TV, clean, and very well stocked. I arrived on 12/23/23 to a wreath on the door and a lighted and decorated Christmas tree in the living room. We had a blizzard and got snowed in the day after Christmas. Stan, the owner, sent a guy over to shovel out the driveway. He also brought a new shovel to leave at the property which I soon put to use after the snowplows came by and blocked the driveway. "This house was perfect for our family. We brought our kids and dogs for a hunting trip. The garage was convenient to leave the dog trailer in. We loved the yard (our dogs did too) and that we could walk to the Outpost Lodge for lunch and to the lake. There’s also some really nice walking trails close by overlooking the lake.. so beautiful. "This property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were even able to cook up a Thanksgiving dinner. It was centrally located close to bird hunting (the grasslands), shopping, and eating. There were several good restaurants nearby to enjoy. It served well as a home away from home. We appreciated having a pet-friendly rental with a washer and dryer. Both are not easy to find. We loved the area. The host was very attentive and easy to work with throughout our stay."

"This was the first time for us to come back to Pierre in many years, having grown up here and now living in Texas. It was delightful to find out that we were staying in a house that belongs to someone who knew our father from "back in the day." He even dropped in for a little visit! "Came to Pierre from Yankton SD to celebrate my oldest son's birthday. We were able to cook and have the family together in a very nice setting. Location is great for getting whatever you need while you are there. If you are looking for perfection, it's not for you (it's not a brand new house). But it was great for us, very comfortable and enjoyable. And the host couldn't have been nicer. I suggest calling him if you reserve it, some kind of breakdown between him and the VRBO site."
