"The cabin is terrific, well appointed and very comfortable. We were not aware of the proximity of a busy road, so the noise level was higher than expected. The house was mostly clean, although the sides, corners and under furniture had not been vacuumed. "

"Went for a few days to north GA to see the leaves change colors and had a great time. Home was clean and spacious, with many amenities for a multi-day stay. Location was good. WWould definitely consider"

"Gorgeous home. Beautifully decorated with large bedrooms/bathrooms and comfortable beds. Lovely back deck to sit and enjoy nature and all the deer that would walk by. Sometimes stopping to eat (food provided). Games to play provided as well. Took advantage of the putt putt golf at the rec center. If we had more time we would have used the pool and other amenities offered. Oversell wonderful stay."

During the 1790s, James Vann became a Cherokee Indian leader and wealthy businessman. He established the largest and most prosperous plantation in the Cherokee Nation, covering 1,000 acres of what is now Murray County. In 1804 he completed construction of a beautiful 2 ½-story brick home that was the most elegant in the Cherokee Nation. After Vann was murdered in 1809, his son Joseph inherited the mansion and plantation. Joseph was also a Cherokee leader and became even more wealthy than his father.

In the 1830s almost the entire Cherokee Nation was forced west by state and federal troops on the infamous Trail of Tears. The Vann family lost their elegant home, rebuilding in the Cherokee Territory of Oklahoma. Today the Vann House survives as Georgia’s best-preserved historic Cherokee Indian home. A guided tour allows visitors to see the house which features beautiful hand carvings, a remarkable “floating” staircase, a 12-foot mantle and fine antiques.

"We have stayed in MANY great rental properties. This was by far the best. It was cozy, but still classy. from the heated toilet seats to the sauna… all the details were thought of at this home. The beds were comfy, the view was breathtaking, the design was pristine. We feel lucky to have found this place and hope to come back again. It’s a good middle spot between blue ridge and Elijah- so location was awesome for what we were looking to do. Again, can’t recommend this spot enough. You won’t regret it!"

Wonderful cabin

"What a wonderful little cabin. If your looking for nature, relaxation, aand a place to get away from it all this is it. My sister and I recently stayed here and had a wonderful, relaxing time. Only things you need to bring are your clothes, food and your personal items. Our host Angela and the cabin caretakers go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and then some plus Angela does keep in touch with you in case theres any questions or issues. Will definitely come back for another stay. "
