"We had a wonderful stay at The Ayre Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was excellent with a comprehensive menu, something to suit all tastes. Breakfast was free and there was a really good choice of cereals, pastries and all the usual Bacon Eggs etc. The building was nice and room very comfortable. We were overlooking the harbour and it was nice to see all the ferries coming and going. I would highly recommend a stay here, we will be back :D "

"Got an upgrade from a single bed at the shore to a double within the larger Kirkwall hotel and the room was beautiful. For what I paid It was fantastic value for money. I would have given five stars but for one niggle. Room 215 could do with sound proofing as I heard two people speaking until the early hours either in my neighbouring room, or between levels. I had to use my earphones to get sleep to tune them out. I wonder what like it would be if either room was watching a film if I can hear...

"A really lovely, individual and peaceful property which felt like a home from home. Only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Gorgeous views of Mey Castle from the coastal path. Lots of local walks and coast to enjoy. Dunnet head and beach only 10 minute drive away. The property had everything you could need from a well equipped kitchen to two lovely log burners, one with built in oven (there is also a normal oven in the property). A very helpful and kind owner. "The apartment is clean and in a great location, close to restaurants, pubs, waterfront, shops, etc. The bed was fairly comfy and it had everything we needed. The only thing that would have made it better is a blow dryer and the shower temp being easier to adjust. We would recommend staying here."
