"This is a friendly place with clean pleasant rooms and a nice breakfast. However, it isn’t really a hotel, more a pub offering bed and breakfast. When I booked it advertised a restaurant, but this had closed down by the time we arrived, and we had to book dinner in a sister hotel nearby. Not a big issue, but as there are only two restaurants in town you have to book early. We found here that like many places in Orkney there seems to be a serious staff shortage. "The hotel check in was quick and easy. No elevator though. The staff was excellent especially the two young men in the restaurant. They were excellent in every way. Book this hotel early they fill up quick with bus tours. There is a few restaurants nearby if you want a change but Brae Hotel dinner menu changes daily. They also worked with my wife's food allergy."

"came for another wonderful trip to Orkney. Accommodation was good with plenty of room. Felt it could benefit from a 2nd toilet/bathroom. the rooms were very spacious. more wardrobe /hanging space would be good in twin rooms.
