"Three days before leaving the UK we were contacted by the owner's agent saying we had to leave a large € deposit (now increased). I offered a credit card but they would only accept a cheque or cash. Appealed to owner who agreed to reduce but still had to leave a large amount in cash. Owner pointed out it was in his conditions. This is not communicated in the booking and I eventually I found it hidden, in French, in a sub menu, under House Rules, on the UK website. On departure we had to get to...

"The property near Dolus in D’Oleron is atypical for the area . It is a ranch style with loads of space, and different areas both inside and in the garden to enjoy. We had 12 people in the property for part of our stay and did not feel cramped. Arnaud was very welcoming and helpful. The pool was perfect and the air conditioning useful at times. Altogether a very charming place to stay - we hope to return in future!"

"very clean and beautifully furnished and decorated throughout the property in a quiet location. Carefully thought of everyone's needs. On the description it clearly stated that there was a hot tub with a bath symbol, but there was not a bath or a hot tub at the property. Any issues were addressed by the owner very quickly. "The property is large and easily accommodated our party (9 guests) and could have taken more guests too. The outside space was fantastic and all the children loved the pool. The inside dining area was spacious and the kitchens were well stocked. The sleeping accommodation was great - beds were comfortable and to have air conditioning was a real bonus. The location of the property is fantastic with the beach only a few km away. The owner was super helpful and although doesn’t speak English used...
