"Fint hotell om man, som vi, inte är så fortjusta i de där stora hotellkomplexen. Hotellet har 37 rum och ligger ungefär 15 min promenad från centrala Santa Maria. Vill man ta taxi kostar det 5 euro. Helt ok frukost och maten i hotellets restaurang var alltid god och vällagad. Ibland fick man vänta ganska länge på sin beställning och det blev vid några tillfällen lite fel och missförtånd. När vi anlände till hotellet fick vi besked om att det var överbokat och rummet vi bokat och betalt för fanns inte tillgängligt. Vi bodde de första två nätterna i ett rum som var helt ok, men som sagt inte alls vad vi tänkt (havsutsikt och terass). De sista fem nätterna blev vi dock uppgraderade till en av hotellets fantastiskt fina sviter. Så vi var mycket nöjda med hotellets sätt att lösa problemet. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal."

"I stayed here for one night before catching a flight to another island. At €100 per night – the most expensive rate I’ve paid on Cape Verde – it was a huge disappointment. As a Gold Member on Expedia, I was promised a bottle of sparkling wine, which was missing. Instead, my room came with a cockroach (photo attached). Maybe it drank the wine for me. The air conditioning didn’t work, the shower drain was clogged, and mosquitoes thrived in the stagnant water. Housekeeping seemed questionable too – the first thing I saw was a squished mosquito smeared on the wall. When I asked for another room, the night porter said the hotel was fully booked. For one night, it’s manageable, but for this price, you’d expect better. Breakfast was fine, though I never got my omelet after waiting 30 minutes. The cockroach, however, met its end and became a feast for ants by morning. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel – it’s way overpriced and feels too "eco-friendly" for comfort."

"When we arrive at 2 o'clock in the morning we discovered that we had no room there,even if we had booked in April and we had to go to another Melia resort in the nearby. we were very disappointed also for the standard of the premises that it is not at all a 5-star hotel, as you can see from the picture. We had to argue all the time with the respinsables to have 2 roomkeys (not available we had just one ), to enter the spa and to reserve restaurants. Luckily all the ordinary staff was very kind and available to help and find solutions. The other Melia Dunas has more facilities than Tortuga and the beach is fantastic. Overall holiday was nice but for sure there is a lot to improve "

"No words can describe how wonderful our experience was at this hotel after Murdeira Village resort cancelled our booking on arrival, Robinson Resort were so incredibly kind and helpful and treated us like royalty after a stressful experience we had and they went out of their way to accommodate to the situation we were in during the fully booked Christmas period and made our Christmas so memorable. Special thanks to Olessya and all the staff at the hotel for everything they did for us . Cannot recommend this hotel enough , the quality of the food , service and entertainment and standard of the rooms is incredible. Thank you "

"Hard to review stay as I was suffering from after effects (but clear) of recent Novo contracted in UK as lost 8-9 lbs. So did not due what I expected to do & 1/2 way thru stay started to pick up. Room, staff breakfast very good. Had nice trip to Santa Maria they provide for free. Pool fine but used less than expected as not up to it. Snorkelled in small bay up from reception. Good first 2 days last day churned up so visibility issues. Very nice walks N & S of resort on or near beach which I could not exploit as much as wished. Nice meals in afternoon N of reception. Good Super Mercardo on site S of reception"
