"This was our fourth time at the National but importantly the third year in a row since the major change. It is still wonderful and keeps the right balance of elegance and calm in the centre of South Beach. This time there were a few anomolies. It advertises itself as an adult hotel but we saw children running around at and in the pool. They were well behaved but I'm not sure why they were there. Room service was awful for the amount we spent. No glasses in the room (actually this happened last year) and we asked at reception with no result after a full day, then rang room service asking for standard glasses and ice and waited an hour with nothing. We ended up walking to the bar asking for glasses and ice and bringing them back. During the 5 days we were there we had to wash the glasses ourselves. The other negative thing is allowing people around the pool to smoke. Biggest gripe of all. They now allow outside visitors (who might get better service than paying guests for 5 days). When we tried to get beds and towels at the weekend at around 3pm, not only were there no beds but no towels on two days running. A waiting list for towels. Finally the Martini Bar is shown as open on the website at weekends with live music. On the Saturday night we arrived it was closed. The bartender at the Blues Bar said it was only for special functions. No update to the website. We love The National and want to come back, but hopefully these issues will be a one off. "

"This place is great, they have clean rooms and a beautiful pool with palm trees right next to the police station and 2 blocks from the beach, they also hold your luggage for free."

The staff is super friendly and go out of their way to make sure your every need is met.area. Alexis Margulies was our go-to as always!!! She’s so brilliant and knowledgeable!! We only come back just for her warm hospitality. She provided the best recommendations that made our stay fabulous! The Nautilus is located in the heart of South Beach, ocean front, you can walk to all the great restaurants and shopping available near by. Spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. "
