"A really beautiful hotel with plenty of spaces to relax. Very cosy and the room was beautifully decorated. The staff were really welcoming, friendly and spoke fluent English. The breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere of the whole place was relaxed. We paid for the parking, which was well worth it. It’s in a private, gated area and you can keep your push bikes there too. Highly recommend. "

"This fabulous historical home was in a perfect location to access all of the old town and central locations of Saint Martin de Re and yet on a quiet street that isolated us from the noise. The owners were wonderful to communicate with and very kind. They allowed us to drop off our luggage early. We had a superb time visiting with them and getting to know the history of their home and the area. We were very comfortable.and would stay here again on a return trip to Saint Martin."

"his was first sent to the owner The positives first. Villa Bel Air was the right size and had the right facilities, well situated, for our three-generational holiday on Ile d Ré. The options of inside and outside eating were perfect and we were mostly very lucky with the weather, which enabled us to enjoy the pool. The eclectic furniture and décor are unique! Plenty of bathrooms and WCs My wife and I were proprietors for many years, of a large, 19th century chambres d’hôte house and I just wanted to let you know our thoughts:- As I said on departure to Roman, the agent for changeover, the overall impression though, is of a house that is tired in many respects and in need of love. The kitchen, though large enough, is a bit of a mishmash and the original part distinctly off-putting. The stone sink, though an interesting piece of history, looked a health hazard, so it and the adjacent work surface were not used. The whole house was OK but far from super clean on arrival and it is probably hard to make it so. The house has clearly seen many extensions/changes over the years, with attendant plumbing idiosyncrasies, but for the first five days of our holiday, before a plumber changed some pipework and the vacuum truck paid a second visit, we had blowback of foul-smelling water in two parts of the kitchen when the showers were used. "We had a fantastic time staying at this gite, with three generations of our family. The house is well equipped and very comfortable - and has lots of space for bikes to be stored. It is a short cycle ride to Saint-Martin, to the centre of Bois-Plage (where there is a market every day during the summer) and to the beach. We would recommend the house to other large family groups!"

"Lovely hosts, couldn’t do more for us. Location was incredible, about 10 steps from the harbour front. The room was perfect, had all we needed and was beautifully decorated. The pool was ideal, small but just what we needed. Couldn’t recommend more highly. "

"We have stayed in Saint Martin before - just around the corner so knew the area well. We have never stayed in this property before and never will again. As soon as we opened the front door we were hit by the smell of damp. A quick inspection of the house revealed damp in the main bedroom and although the house may well have had a cursory vacuum clean there was dust and mould everywhere. The local Novasol agent was uncontactable and despite our complaints to head office did not reach out to us to help. The photos may show a cottage that looks cosy but beware. These photos must be at least 20 years old. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this property."

"Good communication about how to access the property as I arrived after reception closed. The apartment was well equipped and it was ideal for one or two people, but though it claimed to be for 4, two couples would have found it very uncomfortable, with one couple in the double bed and the second couple inches away on the sofa bed. It was disappointing to arrive at 11am and have to make up my own bed, and though the hotel was far from full when I arrived, I was given a room which looked out onto a square at the back and had a footpath running along right outside my window. Apartments looking onto the gardens (which I have had in the past) would have been much better. On the day of departure Reception were helpful in looking after my bags until I left St Martin in the afternoon."
