"Beautiful historic hotel located right on the Rhine river and on the edge of the gorgeous old town of Stein am Rhine. The town was quaint and lovely. The room was modern and comfortable with amazing views of the river. Restaurants walkable. But the most amazing thing about this stay was the staff. So pleasant and kind. They came in special in the morning to make us breakfast and it was fantastic! I can’t wait to come back here. If you get the chance definitely stay here "

"The house is well laid out with everything you need. Oehningen has the best ice cream in the world at a farm off Hoeristrasse and a wonderful swimming beach with all facilities for a very modest price. Lots of country walks and ferries up and down the lake."

Rooms had less wood and more concrete than expected. The church had strict opening hours and was only accessible with a museum ticket. "Pros:location is ok (15 min walk to centre) nice outdoor and restaurant area. Clean. Cons: the room is like a sauna in summer as its so small and is in the roof with a sky light. Overpriced for a bunk bed and shared bathroom. No kitchen. The shower turns off after about a minute but you can just keep pressing the button. "
