"Excellent accommodation - the house is well presented and full of character. There is plenty of space and it is well equipped. It is in a small village accessed up a winding mountain road. The area is rural and unspoilt, and popular with hikers and cyclists. The house was an ideal place from which to explore locally and farther afield, including Bilbao and Santander."

Weather not Dorleta’s fault but unless you read the description and looked at the photos very carefully the fact that there is only one external window and that in the kitchen area is not apparent."

"La procédure d’arrivée était complexe, communication pas très aisée avec le gérant car ne parlait pas français. La maison était très propre. Quelques bémols, concernant la vaisselle, les ustensiles, la maison n’est pas assez fournie. Cafetière trop petite pour 8. Cuisinière à gaz dans une Location ce n’est pas l’idéal avec la bouteille de gaz dans la cuisine. Il faudrait installer des lumières led blanches au rez-de-chaussée, car c’est vraiment trop sombre, c’est l’endroit où nous cuisinions,...

"The view outside this beautiful and spacious house is amazing! Enough towels and toilet necessities available, even coffee! Furniture inside and outside could really use a good repair. Not really comfortable chairs inside and outside. Some items related with ducked tape and some not even repaired. A little adjustments will make a big difference. Cleaning was way below standard. "An amazing location but a bit difficult to find on google and Waze. Luckily we found the signs on the road leading us to our location. Spectacular views even in the rain but when the sun shines it is amazing. Overall the property was great but a few maintenance issues could be addressed with the dishwasher, upstairs shower in particular."

A Top class Property

"Hotel IJ is a gem of a property deep in Basque country. Set in a gorgeous rural environment atop a small village and surrounded by hills and farms, it is the perfect country getaway. The building is as stunning as the photographs and the rooms have an elegant\ vintage charm to them. Regarding food, breakfast was our favourite meal with dinners at the cafe being little underwhelming. We never got a chance to try the fine dining option. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I want to put a special mention and appreciation for some front desk staff members who went above and beyond to assist me with a concern with my car rental. I was treated unprofessionally by Avis with a car breakdown but the staff helped me with the language barrier and service concern in a foreign country and I really want to thank them for that and look forward to visiting again. "

Outstanding hotel

"This is an absolute gem of an hotel. The building and decoration is stunning. Our room had the most incredible floor to ceiling window with sea views. It was spacious and beautifully designed. All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The location is fantastic. One of the best places I've ever stayed."
