"The hotel was a great value - we had a very large, clean room and were only a few minutes away from the center of the city and several excellent restaurants. The hotel itself served a good buffet breakfast (for 20 CHF) and within a 5-minute walk we found three very good restaurants. The best of the 3 was Restaurant Fiorentina, where we had wonderful truffle and mushroom-filled ravioli and risotto with shrimp. The Turkish restaurant Pinar served lamb kabobs that were the best lamb we had ever had - close to a good filet mignon. The Lebanese restaurant Za Zaa had a broad range of vegetarian dishes, including the appetizer sampler that we shared for lunch. The hotel staff are multi-lingual, friendly, and helpful. This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Basel and/or overnighting before a Viking river cruise on the Rhine."

"The hotel is in the perfect location - near to the train station and the city centre. Our room was a good size, bed was comfy, and there was a kettle for making tea and coffee, which was great. The only downside to our trip was the swimming pool and sauna were closed for renovations...and we had booked the hotel especially to use those facilities. "
