"Key collection was very straight forward, house and room very clean and comfortable. Cake on arrival a nice touch. Prosecco and chocolates for valentines and extra special thought! Unfortunately breakfast times very short and early for the weekends so didn’t have breakfast on the Saturday (parkrun timings didn’t allow and didn’t work out how to arrange early breakfast until it was too late). "Bartles Lodge is a gem of a hotel. It’s situated in a very peaceful and serene village, making it the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of day to day life. "Lovely spacious room. Comfy bed. No one on reception when we got there on Friday Dec 27th but after ringing a phone number and leaving a message we were greeted by the owners son. We were asked if we wanted a meal that night or breakfast in the morning which we didnt need. It would have been nice to visit the bar on Friday pm but we found it closed at 9:45pm when we tried to visit it. Maybe it would be open later a different day or in the summer. A pleasant stay if you want to stay in your room."

"Although it was a good stay and in an excellent location, the room we stayed in was very dusty and needed a good clean. Bathroom blind was very dusty, exposed wires from a towel rail. Bedroom needed dusting and windows that opened needed cleaning. Confusion over the bill when we left."

"Loved this cottage, everything you could need in terms of home comforts, ample kitchen equipment to do a 3 course meal (not that we did), courtyard garden perfect for the dog, as previously mentioned, parking is a little tight at the front of the property "

"On arrival we found out the room had changed and as we'd veen looking forward to this specific room, we were initially disappointed. The staff however went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay and helped make it special with free drinks and unlimted golf. The room we were given was lovely and unique. We enjoyed it as much as we would have the other one i am sure. There is building ongoing to the new spa and to some rooms but it was never an issue and the noise was limited to reasonable times so not to disturb guests. The play area for kids looked epic, the golf was fun and the breakfast was fantastic with loads of choice and food made to order as well as a buffet. We had a short drive to the Dabaling Duck snd visted Rising castle, Castle Acre and took in the beauty of the small villages and scenary. All in all a lovely place and location to explore."

Weekend stay

"Lovely weekend stay. Its a lovely old building but very clean. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was amazing. We booked an evening meal in the restaurant which was good. Had a good nights sleep as the bed was very comfortable. It would have been useful to have a plug nearer a mirror for drying hair!"

"Very friendly staff, the food was amazing we had fish and chips with peas the fish was a good size portions couldn’t finish it. The room was brilliant well fitted out had a small kitchen that we didn’t expect to have, the views were amazing of the church. Every where was very clean.. will be booking again.. to all staff thank u for giving us an amazing stay "
