"We had a fabulous weekend celebrating our 40th anniversary at the Shoe House. The house is beautifully decorated with every detail thought of by the hosts. We spent our weekend cooking together, playing games, sitting out by the fire pit and enjoying the hot tub. Sleeping accommodations are comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. The downstairs family room is where we gathered the most and having a full refrigerator, bar, and coffee station was a huge plus. We had a fabulous memorable time....

"My friend and I were Civil War reenactors 45 years ago. We had talked about this trip for a long time. This cabin ticks all the boxes for a historical deep dive. Its almost on the battlefield and the Round Tops are easily visible from the property. At the end of a long day of following that HUGE battle, the cabin is a quiet, idyllic retreat. "It’s a great place for a quick stay. Easy to get into. The steps to get into the main area are a little tough especially without a way to block them off such as a baby gate. Beds were soft, well stocked kitchen for easy use of items, relatively clean, very nice having laundry on site as well. Owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with."

"The property is very remote, which is not sufficiently described in the ad. By this I mean NO CELL PHONE service within a 10 mile radius. There is NO WIFI service. Totally unsafe for BIPOC travelers and you will not be able to communicate with the outside world. Not as described at all and no accommoadation for the discrepancy between what is advertised and what is actually there"
