"Overall considering Brussels high prices this is a good value option, with some issues. The main ones being their check-in and checkouts policy. They only allow you to check-in very late and if you want to actually meet somebody within a tight 2 hour window. I think they might have the option to check in without concierge but that's a risk and I have had bad experiences in the past with other properties. Facilities are a bit dated especially the bathroom and bed had a mattress too thin and soft...

"Felt like we had our own little apartment in the heart of Ghent. Was clean and had a nice "Honesty Bar" where you could grab drinks and snacks and just write down what you took to pay at the end. Also had free food (bread, eggs, meat, cheese, etc.) which was nice to make a quick sandwich. Close to everywhere you'd want to go. Recommend!"

"This is a nice bed & breakfast. My room was on the ground floor, near to the entrance hall which meant I could hear other guests coming and going. The door wasn’t exactly soundproof, the curtains didn’t quite close but overall it’s a good place to stay. Breakfast was adequate and the hosts were pleasant enough."

"Luxurious B&B, very tranquil, clean, quiet, nice modern rooms. Belgian beers & wine available at democratic prices. Owner couple runs this B&B and have gradually expanded it over the past 12 years to now 15 rooms. We stayed in the Superior Room type which seems try largest one and is the size of a studio with separate sitting area. Breakfast served in common area but otherwise no restaurant on-site. Biking and walking trails nearby. Highly recommended for a quiet stay near Dendermonde. "

"Very convenient location for museum lovers. The neighbourhood was well maintained and I felt safe walking alone day and night. The room I stayed in was small (with an en suite bathroom) and furnished nicely. There was a mini fridge, a coffee maker and a small kettle. There is no front desk, someone sends you a code for the door. The price was reasonable for the room. I would consider staying here again. "

"We had an amazing time here, such a lovely place and really warm despite it being winter! The breakfast was amazing, a basket of goodies to tuck into with all the required utilities in the kitchenette. Parking was great with an option for EV charging. The city centre was just 10 minutes away by foot and very easy to find. Highly recommend this place, would definitely stay again."

"I was not expecting a code-style reception at "A Flemish Tale. To me, an in-person reception check-in is essential for a traveler overseas like me. Thankfully, I was waiting downstairs at least 2 hours before my "check-in time" at 3:00 p.m., so that I was able to meet, totally by chance, the lady in charge at the entrance. But for this, I would not have been able to get my access code. Imagine how scary it was! "

"Incredible location! Perfect for our first trip to Ghent. Plenty of space for two of us (adults). The bathroom glass makes privacy an issue if you are not a couple, and as noted on many other reviews, the shower gets water all over the glory. Those small bathroom issues would not sway us from staying here again though. We loved the property and the vibe of the place. They have done an incredible job with preserving it. I highly recommend this as a place to call home during a Ghent visit."

"We arrived late and it was the night of the boss' wedding. Yeah, right. So we couldn't park the car in the underground garage at the Hotel but had to find a place on the street wherever I could. No restaurant for the night of course, you know, the wedding. A complimentary drink in exchange. Well, decide for yourself. Other than these it was a nice place, for one night we had to spend there."

"Love are stay at this apartment. We were very well welcome and had easy access to their private secure parking lot just under the building for 20 euros. It is close to everything. Lots of restaurant around the hotel even offers free coffee 24/7. Apartment was well equipped with all the amenities . The only thing I can add is it’s starting to show its age a bit, but not a big deal for us."
