"Fabulous island with wonderful reef and lovely friendly and efficient staff who went out of their way to be helpful. Food was excellent as were facilities. Plentiful water (still and sparkling filtered) in the room at all times, replenished multiple times a day. Nice toiletries. We didn't do many activities but greatly enjoyed the beginners dawn yoga class. Overwater bungalow was beautiful and possible to see fish, sharks and rays from your room. I'd have like to have seen a little more action on sustainability (ensuring appropriate behaviour over reefs, reefsafe sunscreen etc, and also introducing - or acting on - optional daily towel and sheet changes (ours were changed multiple times a day, despite us hanging up towels). I understand that The Standard is starting a cooperation with a conservationist to improve information about the coral etc which would be great. It is worth noting that, in line with the branding of the hotel, there is very often quite loud music in the pool / bar area."

"What a place! Reethi Beach Resort surpassed all our expectations. Our overwater villa was beautiful, and the house reef is incredible - even just snorkeling a few metres from the beach, we saw turtles, sharks, and countless fish. The food was excellent. The main buffet had plenty of variety and themed evenings, and there were always some fresh cooking stations. We also ate at Reethi Grill twice (delicious) and had lunch at Moodhu a few times, where we saw sharks and rays swimming below. Lastly, the staff were all lovely and very friendly. If you're looking for a relaxed, authentic stay in the Maldives, where the marine life comes first and the WiFi comes last, this is the place for you. It was the perfect place to switch off and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The staff mentioned that the resort is being refurbished very soon, and I really hope it keeps its charm."

"Amazing first visit to Maldives. Incredible to see all the sea life so up close and personal just snorkeling even off the beach. Great for kids as well. We met couples with young babies even and they complimented staff."

"Stunning location, attentive staff who just avoid in going too far. Excellently maintained facilities and as a vegan, the range of choice of food was exceptional. Room was beautiful (though I caught my foot on an ill-maintained wood plank by my pool causing a large splinter). So much about our trip was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended "
