"My wife and I have been driving around the UK for 2 weeks and found The Tickled Trout to be the best we’ve had. Spotless, The Bed was soo comfortable, Great shower, and the Roast in the restaurant was amazing. We were greeted at check in by Charlie and his female off sider, who both came out to the car park and helped with the baggage. We were taken to our room and shown about. When we went down to the restaurant for dinner, Charlie and the female staff member ( sorry don’t know her name) were...

"Lovely stay; recently refurbished room and sparkling clean en-suite. Made good use of the fan provided, during a warm night. Only suggestion is to offer fruit, yogurt and perhaps croissants for breakfast as not everyone likes a full English. However, our breakfast was well cooked and delicious. Had good advice and help with parking, as we arrived, which was much appreciated as parking is tight."

"property located in a quiet residential area located at 20 minutes walk from town centre .property is a bid dated and could do with a bit more cleaning .no much water coming for the shower ,bed and sofa bed very uncomfortable and we had a cockroach visiting while we were there .we found a trap under the sink in toilet therefore business must be aware of issue. not many choices for a family room in the area especially at last minute but we won’t return in this hotel "

"3 of us stayed in the 3 single bed family room on a room only basis the room was extremely clean with en suite shower room. The beds were very comfortable tea and coffee was supplied and when we needed more milk they bought us more. The room also had doors out to a little patio area overlooking a pool with fish and a lawn beyond."

"The owner of The Lodge was very welcoming providing me with good information on how to find the place. My room was well equipped with TV, Fridge and Kettle plus storage for clothing if I needed to use it. The site also has ample parking. Although miles from other places, it's a quiet location and quite a hidden gem. It doesn't take long to get back to the Chatham area."

"When I arrived it said there was a reception at the rear. There was nothing but a locked door. I was lucky that there was a fellow guest who could let me in and ring the manager. When I got in the room it was unmade from the previous guest, the sheets where dirty, there were bedsheets in the washbasin, dirty towels on the bed, the two towels that were folded up and put in the wardrobe were stained. The duvet smelled of urine. All in all very dirty and you'd be better going somewhere clean."

"Host Deb was friendly but this did not compensate for a room and house that smelt stale- a mix of dog and cigarette smoke. Keeping the windows open meant lots of noise from the busy road. Shower tray was blocked. Doesn't offer actual breakfast (as advertised) but was offered some toast. Generally poor experience."
