"We had a fantastic week's stay at the Porto AS 1829 Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable; the staff were extremely friendly and spoke perfect English; and the location was fantastic. Our bathroom could have done with a little maintenance - there was a bit of a leak at the bottom of the shower head, and from the sink's cold water tap - but this didn't detract from our stay. "Hotel is in desperate need of a FULL renovation, rooms are small and almost none amenities, breakfast was poor and served in a box. We stayed at room 305, the door dint close completely and we can see the light from the hallway it was disturbing to sleep. If you want to charge your mobile devices there was only one electric plug. No AC and during a hot summer night it was hard to sleep. Basically the only good thing is the location."

"We had one of the modern rooms so didn’t feel the “castle” feeling in our room. The grounds and breakfast room were very beautiful though. Ours was a plain room, but overall comfortable, with heating, and pretty spacious for 3 of us. we had a few ants in the bathroom and on the beds though since our arrival. Also please be advised the parking lot is so narrow, it’s a one way entrance but somehow they want you to make a u-turn and park facing downhill . The first night we arrived I was more than...
