"My family and I loved the location of the property. We enjoyed the privacy of the villas and the beautiful pool area. We saw monkeys early in the morning and late afternoon while the kids swam in the pool. My son spotted a poison dart frog off the patio. There was some excitement for all ages of my family. "The staff was supposed to get back to me regarding additional reservations. I still have not heard back from them. Further, it’s very difficult to reach the front desk from an external phone. I tried to reach them because I had left my water shoes behind and wanted to let them know to keep it safely so that I can pick it up later. I found it very difficult to access the front desk phone number."

"Though the house was described accurately as typical Caribbean style, we were not expecting the total openness with only screens in windows. However, we are so glad we stayed there and would do it again. So much wildlife to observe from the upper open “treehouse” deck. No issues with bugs in the home, great laundry and pool area. Great hiking right out the door. Host was an excellent communicator and property was well equipped and maintained. We will remember this stay for a lifetime. It is 100%...

"The staff here is absolutely incredible! Everyone was so helpful and kind. Definitely want to give a shout out to Jessica and Timateo who were amazing! The breakfast was great. Lunches and dinners were delicious. They have a beautiful area to dine in, multiple bars, cool fire pit, lots of little nooks and crannies to chill in, and they are right on the beach, you can order right from the beach and receive your food and drinks without leaving Paradise, which is absolutely phenomenal. "Mawamba Lodge is very lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the facility, walking along the beach, and strolling through the village of Tortuguero. Mawamba has a recycling station where you can pick up a bucket, walk along the beach and pick up garbage left behind by the tide. We like thinking we may have made a little difference for the turtles."
