The location is superb for seeing temples on the west side of Kyoto, and it’s always easy to get around, either via their free shuttle bus to Kyoto Station, or by nearby public transit with a few blocks’ walk. "great japanese style breakfast, room is clean but it would perfect if there is non-smoking room, still has the smoke odour in smoking room. overall, it is spacious, clean, a little bit walk from station but they offer free shuttle ride to train station. good place to stay if you travel to amanohashidate!"

"I booked via expedia. My issues with this place are with EXPEDIA. Foreign Tourists please read: The listing did not clearly state that the room did not come with a bathroom OR that there was no shower in the building. Each floor has 1 male and 1 female washroom. "We really enjoyed our stay at Bamboo Town. It is in a quiet residential street less than 10 minutes from Enmachi Station and you get instructions how to get there in your information pack. It's 3 bus stops (roughly) from Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Temple) and we found it a good base for sightseeing in Kyoto by bus and train.
