"Some positives; very friendly and helpful staff, less than a 10 minute walk from the train station. Short walk to the mall, shopping, and center of town which has an abundance of Christmas Markets this time of year. The room has a small kitchenette which was very nice. "We stayed for 3 nights in December, the breakfast was good and never busy, staff checking us in wet friendly and polite and spoke multiple languages. The areas itself is ok, it's near a tram stop into the centre of Basel and within close enough proximity to local amenities such as the Co-op to stock up on some essentials for cooking. "It was fine but I wouldn’t call it 4* given that the beds weren’t made up and we had to throw our rubbish away at the end. pool didn’t look so clean but water was warm. "

"The way the bath and shower had been designed is just inacceptable : it is just impossible to take your shower without banging your head on the ceiling which is very low. In the room next to ours, it was the same! You cannot 5* to a hotel, where you do not have the possibility to take a shower in normal conditions, this is the basics ."
