"Opinion of an American expat male. 1. Service: Staff very helpful in helping a new tourist get around Sri Lanka. Breakfast was hearty. If you're unfamiliar with Sri Lanka, do yourself a favor and book the hostel's airport shuttle service. 2. Room was spacious, clean, with working AC, 24-hour wifi, bottled water provided. "While Ashan and his mother were helpful, I cannot recommend this location. The bed was a combination of slippery mattress and too small unfitted sheets, which made them impossible to keep in place. There is no AC, only fan..it's hot..only cold water shower.,no tv... It should be rated 1-2 stars"

"I would like to strongly complain regarding the hotel accommodation which was not as advertised, nor was the photographs on your site a true reflection of the accommodation. The faults with the accommodation were as follows: The room was damp and dirty, ie. dirty walls with mold and other stains, including coffee stains etc. The sheets had cigarette burns (yet this was supposed to be a non-smoking room). The bathroom was absolutely filthy and had not been cleaned - toilet had black...

"What extraordinarily warm hospitality and gracious service throughout my daughter's 5 days at Bloomsbury. Her room was perfectly clean, air/conditioned, and spacious, with a private terrace. The entire house was beautifully decorated and the breakfast and dinner that she ate each night was delicious and customized (vegetarian). The owners were genuinely kind and always helpful, arranging for transportation seamlessly, and they speak perfect English which made everything so easy for a traveler....
