First went here back in the 1970's. We joked it was the family castle as it is de Val and our name is Devall. The first time we went the lake had been drained for work on the dam. Latterly, it has been pretty full.

"This was a two night stopover to allow us to ride around the Cantel region and, in particular, the rim of the volcano (long since gone). The appearance of th hotel upon arrival gives little credit for how comfortable the rooms are and how pleasing the restaurant is. It is little surprise that the hotel is used by tradesmen and appears to be full all the time. Very pleased with our stay and would recommend."

"I booked this hotel knowing that the check in was until 8pm however I used the Expedia “Contact” button to request a late check in. The options were given in 2 hour slots - I selected 8- 10pm. I also messaged asking the property if the rooms had AC or fans. Neither request was acknowledged. As I had paid and been charged and the booking confirmed by Expedia, my family and I tuned up at the hotel after a 12hour drive from Spain to find it all locked up and no entry possible.
