Hotel with a Concierge in Batticaloa District from SAR 218

"This was our second visit to Amaya and was happy to be able stay here again. The ambience and staffs were very pleasant. The beautiful Pasikuda makes Amaya a great place to stay in. The only thing was the hotel is based in the Tamil speaking region so it would’ve been great to be greeted and approached in Tamil as well. Kindly use both the national languages or use English entirely. "

"I had been looking forward to stay in this place for quite some time but my experience and expectations was so different. The atmosphere of the location is fantastic. The hotel is very old. Had a bad smell in the room which was so unpleasant and uncomfortable to breathe in. Not suitable for asthma and allergy sufferers. Air conditioner was not working properly. Not much facilities in the room to keep your belongings. Room was very small compared to other hotels around. Washroom doors were so hard to open and close and make huge noise. Sleep was so awful. The hotel is located in the Tamil speaking region but only singhalese were used to greet. Either they use English or use both the national language. The manager on every meeting starts his conversation in Singhalese. They need to treat both the national language equally or else use English. Overall it’s overpriced and not worth for the money. It’s expensive compared to other hotels around but not value for the money. I sincerely request the Hotels.com to review this place before applying the price. I was totally disappointed with the entire experience and stay at this place. "

"Our whole experience was welcoming from our check in to check out. The service from the front desk, to the laundry and dining in was perfect. "

"The food was average. Last day of our stay we went for breakfast and when we came back to our room there was a small snake slithering under our bed which freaked us out. Not sure whether the snake was there overnight! Luckily we were checking out otherwise we would have left right away! "

"We spent 5 nights at Sun Siyam and we had a wonderful time, including a fantastic Nee Year’s Eve party. The staff were fantastic and so friendly. They looked after our little boy like royalty! We spent time on the beach and round the pool. The food was excellent with plenty of choices including lots of amazing vegetable dishes. We did a cookery session with the chef and enjoyed cooking the items we had selected from market. Everyone from the GM down made us feel very welcome, and we very much appreciated this. Our room was great for the three of us with a huge bathroom and outdoor bath. A lovely beach location with friendly team looking after you. "

"From the greetings on arrival to the moment of departure, the staff and owners were only too happy to assist us. If you are looking for a place to relax and hang by the pool or walk down laneways for 10 minutes to a great swimming beach, this place is just great to wind down from the usual tourist trails. The grounds surrounding our accommodation had lots of wildlife, squirrels, geese and even some resident eagles in the coconut palms.. For western travellers, it's handy to know that they have reasonable bar with cold beer and glasses too..A tuk tuk into town is only 5 minutes when you want to see some of the sights such as the Dutch fort."
