The introduction to zazen was great, though Japanese speakers will get most out of this - ditto the lecture before morning service. The meals were excellent, and everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. All together, this short stay was a true highlight of my month in Japan. If you’re staying over a Tuesday, you should be aware that (all?) the restaurants in Eiheiji village seem to close on that day. I’m sure...

"Lovely getaway for an authentic Japanese Onsen bathing experience. The suite room was gorgeous and came with a private bath which was very worth it for me ! Many delicious local restaurant options nearby too. Staff knew enough English to get us settled. Highly recommend for 1-2 nights as part of your trip. "
