"Nice room, standard size hotel room, but beds are good. Bar and restaurant are nice. Probably good to check if there’s a wedding on, obviously this is a wedding hotspot, two on during our stay but we weren’t really affected by them."

"Staff refused to add my IHG awards number to the reservation, they claimed that they've never done it and it wasn't available in the reservation. The area is under reconstruccion, so the hotel is very difficult to access, the parking is a real nightmare to find"

"The Ox Hotel is fabulous value for money. The huge cooked buffet breakfast included vegetarian options. Jack the staff member was so helpful. We could walk to great takeaway options. The room was clean and comfortable and at least I could have a great bath! Worth every penny."

"I regulary stay at the County hotel when passing through Carlisle as it is located in the city centre, offers free parking and the staff could not be more helpful, Bryony on reception is a credit to the hotel team Would recomend the County hotel to any traveller"

"Troutbeck Inn is a gem of a place. The owners are lovely and we had a good laugh with them. The food is second to none and is locally sourced and cooked fresh. We stayed for 2 nights in September whilst walking around the Ullswater area and the location is superb. Right by a main road for good access but without an intrusive noise from the road. I'm sure we will be staying here again if we plan more walks in future."
