"We stayed at The Station Hotel purely because of its proximity to the railway station but found it such an enjoyable experience that we are already planning a return visit. It is an old building, part of the historic centre of the city, and at the moment there is a certain amount of traffic disruption because of a genera[ upgrading of the area but we were not ina car and were not effected by this, Very friendly, helpful staff bit on the desk and around the hotel. "It’s a good hotel location to get to Lake District, free large car park. Friendly greeting at reception on check-in. Should also mention handy EV charger (fast charger) for EV cars (which I used) just off main road. So not only can you recharge your battery but also the cars. "

We dined in on the Sunday evening after a splendid afternoon at Carlisle races, outstanding food, cooked to perfection. Special mention for Kyle behind the bar and waitering, 5⭐ service, a real asset to your establishment, polite, knew his job and was great at it too all done with a smile. Would I recommend the Cumbria hotel to fellow travelers, without hesitation. We will definitely be returning, hopefully Kyle will still be there 👍"
