"Very nice cottage just minutes from pedestrian entrance to chatsworth house. Unfortunately our 2 dogs arent used to people outside walking by and people walk by from 5am which meant we got a barking symphony very regularly! The dogs loved the park and the peaks. Pubs and places to eat close by. Everything we needed in cottage and a bottle of preseco waiting which is a nice touch"

"We stayed here last April (2023) and it was fine but the back garden was a disappointment and we andvised them of this issue. Unfortunately, even though the drain has been sorted the garden has gotten much worse and needs attention for little cost. Also the neighbours hang their washing over the fence which isn’t a very nice sight to see in a morning. The house itself is fine with everything you need. A long mirror somewhere downstairs would be helpful and a mirror in the first floor bathroom...

"Very helpful owner who brought us cake! The property has everything you need for a group of friends, with 9-10 separate beds. Downside is it is bit cramped - particularly the kitchen and the narrow spiral staircase. But for the price it's great and we'll probably go again."

"The house was absolutely perfect for us for the weekend and great setup for having a get together on the weekend. Everything is ideal for people to spend time together, from the well equipped lounge to the ample dining room, really well provisioned kitchen and then (of course) the hot tub, pool and saunas. "Beautiful clean excellently equipped house in Matlock. Great parking, exceptionally clean. Large and spacious with an amazing kitchen and beautiful bathrooms. Lots of hot water. Great communication. Only downside for us as seniors was the very hilly area. We love to walk but the high location of this lovely home meant we preferred to drive, and therefore park, to visit the town. Beautiful house. "We stayed in the Lavender Cottage for two nights on a weekend away. The cottage is situated at a short distance from the Southwell Minster and village shops. Southwell itself is quite a compact and cute little village. The cottage is really well presented, clean and well equipped. The host, Rebecca, left us a hamper with bread, juice, milk etc. Everything was very clean and tidy. "First impressions Cromford Road a very dangerous and noisy road . Several health and safety issues.Scaffolding in the front and rear of property No keys to get out back of house. However on the whole the property met our needs. Lovely bedrooms kitchen ,bathrooms and sitting room . The games room was ideal for my grandchildren."

"Stayed with wife & daughter, room spacious with 2 comfortable double beds & decent size bathroom. Didn’t use the spa so can’t comment, bar area was comfy with a terrace if you want to sit outside. Breakfast was lovely, lots on offer. Parking was easy, right next to the hotel. Discovered a bar/restaurant right on the quays below hotel which was lovely too"
