"I needed a 1 night stay on my way to Colorado Springs from Vegas. Just being 1 adult man, I went for as least expensive as possible. $40 a night. I was very skeptical on what I’d get but the reviews weren’t bad. Checkin was smooth, but I was placed in the back. When I checked in I was literally the only car. Not lying, I was nervous about that. See the pictures, looked like a scene.out of a horror movie. My 2 roommates, Smith & Wesson made me feel a bit more comfy, with all the safety locks on the door set. Later a few other guests arrived so that was better. At night, the place lights up like nothing I’ve seen, also very nice. Now, the room, at first glance, looks like a $40 room but surprisingly not bad at all. Bed and pillows were super comfortable. Floor was all prelaminate flooring. No nasty carpet. Room at an ice cold refrigerator and freezer and a microwave. Bathroom has a weird shower but plenty of hot water. TV had a very nice selection of channels and HBO. Unexpected. All in all I’d easily stay here again. Beware…No shampoo. Just a small Motel 6 bar of soap. The town has a few restaurants, but I got a bag of Arby’s from the Loves station. "

"The hotel was modern, spotless, and well-maintained. Our room was cozy, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast exceeded our expectations, offering a wide variety of options, including sausage, eggs, and two flavors of waffle batter. We also loved the thoughtful touch of a nightly crockpot soup service, which made our stay even more enjoyable. "

"We have stayed in the Thompson House several times along with a few of Walt’s other properties. The house this trip was clean and comfortable upon arrival, as it has been every other time. We had a small hiccup with the heat this trip, which was taken care of ASAP. Walt is a great host and we highly recommend his properties.We plan to book again. "

"I am so happy we found this gem in the desert!! We travel through Green River often and had never heard of the River Rock Inn but now we will be staying here every time. When we arrived, Joe(?) welcomed us with a tour of where everything was, such as a coffee, hot chocolate and tea bar with snacks for our enjoyment, and then explained how to work everything in our room. The room itself was perfect! The owners, Greg and Tracy, put so much thought into not only the decorations but all the necessities that made it so special. The bed was very comfortable, the room was toasty warm and the towels were thick and soft. They have told us that all the rooms are a little different so we look forward to staying in all of them. After getting our room, we grabbed some snacks and sat outside, in the courtyard, around the fire pit. Perfect for a chilly night and a great way to end the day. They have a cute gazebo, cornhole for the grass area and beautiful plants all around. An oasis in the desert. In the morning we went for breakfast and all I can say is...WOW!! Greg made us breakfast and it was amazing, not only how it tasted but the amount of food and the presentation. One of the best breakfast's I have had. If you are just driving through or spending a few days hiking the parks I highly recommend The River Rock Inn. Greg and Tracy have poured their hearts into this beautiful place and when you stay here you will feel and see the love they have for it. We have fallen in love too!!"
