"I came in December, which is their low season, so I was basically one of the very few people staying at the hotel. The receptionist was only around for the check-in. The cleaning staff only showed up once. The rest of the time, they expect you to call if you need help, which is not realistic for foreign travellers, especially if you are not fluent in French or Italian. "The desk clerks at the hotel were excellent particularly Alex who did whatever she could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We also enjoyed the food and the service in the dining room. We were very disappointed to find that there was no fridge in the room--the only hotel of the 11 on our trip. We could store things in their fridge but that is not the same. "Great access to lovely beach, although it does shelve quite steeply so not so suitable for small children. Beach faces west so lovely sunsets. Chalets are adequate. Much nicer than mobile homes/caravans, although they are fairly basic. Unfortunately the kitchens do not have either an oven or kettle although this is not uncommon. "Lovely gardens and nice rooms. However, overall it was a disappointing experience for a 5* hotel, as it simply was not a 5* experience; same breakfast every day and often running out of items, tapas restaurant was very poor value for money with insufficient staff to run it, no pool service or extra pool towels available, you need a car as there is no beach access and no regular shuttle service, also at the beach there are no beds arranged for hotel guests. Would not recommend spending a week...

"Big appartment for a budget rate, close enough to the ferry port and nearby supermarkets to allow for walking to and from, but let down by provision of dirty teatowel, hard floors and thin ceilings resulting in no sleep possible until after midnight due to noise (talking and movement) from above. Lack of utilities' instructions meant that coffee maker unusable. Reasonable overall but could be better. Although WiFi signal strong, couldn't get it to connect."

"The Residence Catalina is a fantastic property, ideally located in a quiet residential part of Saint Florent. It has ample parking, but is within walking distance of the town centre with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants. The accommodation offered is 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartments with outdoor seating (balconies or terraces). The apartments are modern, clean and very functional. We exchanged our two bedroom apartment / 2 bathrooms with balcony for a 2-bedroom / one bathroom and ground floor terrace as we preferred to have access to a BBQ grill. This was granted and worked exceptionally well. Can't fault the Residence Catalina - EXCELLENT."

Fantastic apartment with sea view, pool and private terrace

Nice, quiet location!

"The concierge Mohhmed was fantastic!! He made the stay great. The apartment was as shown in the photos. It was very clean. A great location after a long day! The internet was terrible. I'm not sure if it was the location or the router and equipment, but if your world revolves around the internet this will not be for you. The other issue was that the beds were extremely hard. Not very firm, but very hard. If these two things are not an issue for you then this is the perfect place near Ile Rousse!"
