My husband and I recently had a lovely stay at il Nido Cortona. Silvia was very quick and thorough with all communication before our stay. We ended up having to come a day later than expected and she was very accommodating to our needs.
Stefano was waiting for us when we arrived at the apartment by taxi. He was so nice, gave us a tour of the place, showed us a map of the town and gave us restaurant recommendations. The apartment was very spacious and the bonus was a second sink area so my husband and I could get ready in our own spaces. The bed and couches were comfortable and it was very nice to have our own private courtyard. We did laundry twice and were able to dry our clothes on the provided racks out there.
There were a couple of reasons I did not rate the apartment five stars. When we first arrived, the apartment was a bit musty, but once we ran the air conditioner a little while, it was fine. The other reason is that yes, we knew Cortona was a hill town, but we didn’t realize how steep the streets were. My husband has a bad knee and the walks to and from town were challenging for him. That is no fault of the apartment, that was just our experience. Finally, since the apartment is in a stone building (that is charming and cool) we did not have much phone service. Once we walked down to town, we could text/call.
Overall, we had a great stay! Everyone was so nice, we loved the town and the views were absolutely beautiful!!! We look forward to visiting Cortona again!
