"We arrived at the hotel 1 hour after check-in and our room was not ready. The front desk person couldn't give us an estimate for how long it would take to have it ready and did not attempt to provide a solution - just stared blankly at me. We returned an hour later and the front desk person handed me the room keys without saying a word - no apology or anything. "Went to relax and celebrate my wife's birthday. We have been to Elbow Lake several times and knew what to expect. The cabin is "no frills" but that is part of the experience. It is right on the lakeshore with a deck literally a few feet from the water. The lake is quiet with very few boats making it easy to hear the frequent loon calls. It's a good kayak / canoe lake with a beautiful sand beach in front of the lodge for swimming. The on-site manger and his family are there for whatever you need....
