"We had a great stay at the Apex Grassmarket hotel. It was very convenient to the Old Town of Edinburgh. We stayed on the side that was not facing the castle and it was very quiet, which was great. We had booked the castle-facing room but due to my adding an extra night in the other room, we initially were told we were going to have to change rooms. We gave up the nicer room, which took some extra work from the desk staff, which was appreciated. We also asked for access to the rooftop deck for a photo and desk staff kindly escorted us up and waited while we took our photo. My husband used the sauna daily and enjoyed having access to that amenity."

"The location is right in the center of Edinburgh. Some of the rooms are very noisy. We asked to be moved to a quieter room and they accommodated us. Our room was a bit small but that is expected. The staff were very kind and helpful. "
