Historic Farmhouse, Close to Skiing

Come, enjoy this historic (circa 1810) farmhouse set on 12+ acres. Listed on the Vermont historic register, our 4 bedroom, 2 bath home comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests, and is ideal for a few families looking to get away. The entire house is newly painted, carpeted and furnished for your enjoyment. We are centrally located for skiing, shopping, leaf peeping and enjoying all of Vermont's country charms. You're welcome to explore our 12 acre farm with apples, blueberries, wild blackberries and a beautiful stream.
The farm is located just minutes from several classically quaint Vermont towns, with all of their charms and attractions. Londonderry, Chester, Weston (home of the Vermont Country Store), Springfield, and Ludlow- to name a few, are all less than a 25 minute drive, and have tons to offer in the way of dining, shopping, breweries, antiquing, farm tours and much more. (Details on local attractions on site)
Magic Mountain Ski Resort, great for families with children, is only 3 miles away! As is Lowell Lake State Park, a great place for fishing and recreation.
If skiing is your thing, we are within 40 minutes of 5 resorts, and within 25 minutes of 3.

Close to Skiing; Comfortable; Historical
We stayed here for a ski weekend and the house is 4 minutes from Magic Mountain. It is very conveniently located. The price was so good for a house that could fit this many people that it is worth it even if the drive is a little further to other nearby attractions like Bromley and Stratton ski resorts. The beds were very comfortable and the vibe of the whole house was very homey. We only stayed 2 nights but felt right at home. Everyone slept well. The house itself is from the 1820's and is incredible to explore the property. Kristen is as good of a host there is on VRBO. Pleasant, professional and excellent communication. Thank you so much Kristen for your warm hospitality. We will definitely be in touch next ski season.

Wonderful Property
Our extended family had a wonderful time at Marie Hill! The listing is accurate and the house has a comfortable feel. We had plenty of room for a group of nine. The kids loved running around the property. Communication was great with the property manager. She was great to suggest local places to visit and eat. We look forward to returning!

Beautiful spot.
We got a little lost finding the place at first but that has more to do with the fact that we were arriving late at night and had trouble with cell service. Once we arrived, it was wonderful. Great area and place to stay. Would definitely return.

Don't pass up Southern Vermont!
This modernized yet traditional VT farmhouse has all the requirements for a family vacation. The kitchen is well equipped and it is a very pleasant 5 mile drive to the well stocked and. friendly Londonderry Village Market. We enjoyed walks and picnics at nearby Lowell Lake and there are seemingly endless backroads to explore. It's not far to the attractions of Bromley Mountain or the special shopping in Weston or Manchester. At any time of the day the swing on the front porch says "vacation"!

A nice home for a getaway
Marie Hill Farm was a lovely home for our getaway to Vermont. There are 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, which accommodated our party of 6--although you could easily have 8 or 9 people and still make it work. The property manager (Kristen) was very responsive and we had no issues during our stay. The property was nice with fresh blueberries and raspberries for picking and a lot of space for our dog (it is a dog-friendly rental!) to run around. The firepit and grill were wonderful and the inclusion of things like towels, sheets, soap/shampoo, etc. made everything easier. It's an old house, so the doors and windows can be challenging and the amount of outlets or light in a room is often limited. The area is quaint and Lowell Lake is less than 10 min away, but most other places are a bit of a drive (note: we came in the summer, so it wasn't ski season). The house is right on route 11, but GPS might get confused. The sign on rt 11 definitely helped us. All and all, I'd recommend Marie Hill Farm for a relaxing chill-cation in VT.

Great for a ski weekend
My teenage children and I loved our 3-night stay at this historic farmhouse -- a great location near ski areas and a beautiful, relaxing spot to return to at the end of the day. It was bitter cold out but the comforters on the beds kept us very warm all night long. Nice to have a pet-friendly place to spend the weekend.

Beautiful home with amazing property
My stay at Marie Hill Farm was only 2 nights, but I could have stayed a week. The house was so clean and welcoming. Modern comforts but still kept the unbelievable old charm of the home. The king bed was super comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, knives that were actually sharp and beautiful dishwear. Nice touches such as full size shampoo, conditioner, soap and a full canister of coffee made it all the more feel like home. Very quick to get a response on any questions I had. I spent a lot of time on the breezy porch on the swing and in the backyard using the fire pit and very nice gas grill. The property was great to explore. Once I navigated to the stream, my black lab loved running in and out of the water. I even got to see a moose and her newborn baby running through the neighboring property!! What a treat that was!! It was closer to a busy road than I had envisioned, but honestly after a few hours I didn’t even notice. It just meant there was more to explore in the back. Also checked out Lowell Lake State Park which was so beautiful (don’t use GPS, just go to Lowell Lake Rd 2 miles away). I will definitely look to stay again. Great home. Great area.
