Fantastic Remote Getaway

Anniversary break
Had a lovely stay here location was great lovely walk into beadnall called at Craster Arms great pub dog friendly. Shepherd hut was gorgeous lovely and cosy with the log burner on and everything you needed great place to unwind!

3rd Time Staying
This was our 3rd stay and won't be our last. It was the 1st time in the smaller SH the Sanderling, obviously a little more compact with our 2 big dogs but has a lovely positioning. We can safely say we don't mind which one we stay in next time.

Relaxing Twixmas Break
Our 4th year at Shepherds Retreats and once again it provided the relaxation and respite we were hoping for. Sanderling is toasty warm even in gales in December and has everything you need for a short break. The wood fired hot tub is perfect for star gazing, a lovely way to spend the evening.

Short stay
Gorgeous stay! The weather was fabulous so we spent a lot of time in the garden. Pizza oven used outside, and we sat around the fire until the sun went down watching the sea in the distance. Plenty of dog friendly cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The shepherds hut had everything we needed for a short stay, the hot shower was bliss! We will return

A great week in Northumberland
In one of the hottest weeks if the year, we had a really good time. The accommodation was good and local facilities met our needs. Plenty to see and do. First time in this area and hope to be back soon.

Fantastic stay!
We had the loveliest time in the Sanderling hut. The views were fantastic and we had some great views of the stars too. The complimentary bottle of Prosecco was a lovely little touch, which we enjoyed one night in the hot tub whilst watching the sunset. The location was perfect as plenty of places nearby to eat, drink and walk.Very dog friendly too. We would definitely stay again!

Outstanding
I booked this as a mini honey moon for my nephew and his wife as a wedding gift. Both were extremely happy and loved everything about it. Warm comfortable and was equipped with everything to make their stay perfect. Location was ideal as both love walking finished off in the hot tub. Both can’t wait to book up and visit again. Very accommodating hosts who are on hand and very supportive regarding checking in and out, and what’s on offer in the local area.

Stunning hut!!
The sanderling was a lovely little hut that accommodated the right amount of space for 2 people. Lovely views and places to visit near by, if wanting to spend days out. The log burner in the hut produces enough heat when it gets started. Clear night skies were the highlight of the break, looking through the glass window in the roof.

Heaven
This was our 4th stay in the Sanderling, which I think speaks volumes. Can not say one bad word about it love every minute and never want to leave. Perfect to just switch off and relax. The area is amazing with beautiful beaches and lots of places for food and drinks. The Landing is a great new addition to the village. We will definitely be returning again.

A magical place to stay
The Sanderling is a magical place to stay: 15 minutes walk or 3 minutes to cycle into Beadnell. Orientated that it gets a lovely sunset as you sit outside, and a lovely outlook across the fields to the coast. Such a charming wee space, but actually has everything that you need and super comfy. Good outside seating, and hot tub is lovely. Owners are super efficient and friendly. Super handy for exploring the best of the Northumberland coast - central for going north to Bamburgh and Holy Island, or heading south to Craster and Alnmouth. Only downside is a little road noise, but don't let that put you off - I'd go back to this place in a heartbeat, I had the best couple of nights. Highly recommended.

Shepherds huts in fab location
Stayed for 2 nights. Shepherd hut was amazing, always felt warm inside. Really tidy on arrival, plus some arrival gifts for stay. Hot tub and fire pit worked amazing. Had a few queries but Sam replied to messages. 15 minute walk down road to local pubs craster Arms/Beadnell towers, 30 mins to main beach, lovely walk along coastal path. Good access to other locations in area. Would stay again, would like to try other hut also.

Just really amazing..lovely little place
Had a really good relaxing time at sanderling hut..we never left from the moment we arrived.enjoyed everything from the peace and quiet to the red hot ..hot tub which was lovely on these cold evenings..could not fault anything..thank you...oh i had trouble with the booking but sam arranged payment with me privately which i couldnt be more grateful thank you sam

Shepherds' delight
We loved staying at the Sanderling shepherds' hut - its design is so cleverly done so that even in that tiny space, we had everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and lying there each night watching the moon and stars was one of the best bits of our stay. The bathroom was a revelation - it was definitely compact but the shower was wonderful with unlimited hot water. The outside space was great with views across the fields to the sea. Being self contained and secure, it was ideal for our dog. Finally, the hot tub: Sam left us prosecco and chocolate so lying in the warm water enjoying our gifts whilst we watched the stars was blissful. A treat to be repeated every night of our stay!

Relaxation at its finest
This is my go to place to unwind and it never disappoints, always clean and tidy. Love the fact that tea and coffee and toiletries are provided in the hut and all the little things that make this so special. There are lots of little touches that make this unique. The wood fired hot tub is a dream, fab to sit in there and listen to the birds and take in the views. The wood burner is cosy and the bed is so comfortable. This is the perfect spot to explore the Northumberland coastline.

A great little stay
We stayed a few nights in the Sanderling in mid September and it was fantastic. The hot tub is brilliant, it takes a while to get it going but stay with it. We had great views out over the sea and got to see the northern lights and all the night sky with many shooting stars. We were also treated to some night flying of F35s from the QE2 off the coast. The sky light was a great feature to watch the stars and the bed was comfy. Could've done with more storage and the fridge inside rather than the a-joining shed but we managed to rough it as it is billed as more of a camping experience - price is on the upper end for camping/glamping, if it is was a little cheaper we would've stayed longer.
