"This property looks like it should have been condemned years ago. Carpet was extremely nasty and torn in several places. Heat was from an old oil heater. Who does that nowadays??? On the drive in, the parking lot was really damaged and you could see broken windows in the building. I should’ve turned around but I chose to stay because it was late. Unfortunately, I slept in my clothes. "

Les vestiges des château et chapelle de Grangent, datés IXe s., ne se sont pas toujours trouvés sur une île. Ils furent bâtis à l'origine au sommet d'un promontoire rocheux dominant le cours du fleuve d'une soixantaine de mètres... ce n'est que lors de la mise en eau du barrage en 1957, que le domaine s'est trouvé séparé de son grand frère d'Essalois, sur le plateau de Chambles.
