"Myself and my wife loved staying here it was a beautiful guest house very traditional. We were visiting family so found tbe guest house to be very convenient . If i had to moan about anything it would be the thin walls between the rooms we could here the couple in the next room very clearly which was a little annoying at times but usually only when we wanted to sleep. And again its a very small moan becuase they may of been loud people. The breakfast was great and Siri the cat kept us company at times. The whole place was immaculate and everything had been thought of including the honesty bar which was a nice touch. I would suggest maybe adding some snacks to this as well. I would definitely recommend this guest house to anyone thinking of staying in Amarante. We will be back. Thank you "

"The staff and service is excellent. The individual rooms are a distance away from the lobby/restaurant, which I didn’t like so much. That, however, is secondary to the excellent staff and the large comfortable rooms. The wine tasting was extremely well done."

"Lovely property with stunning views and close to Peso do Régua. Shared areas are very well appointed and comfortable. Pool looked great but too cool to swim. Excellent value! "

"Covelo-Original is exactly what a small guesthouse should be. Our stay was perfect. The Covelo is in the heart of old town and steps away from restaurants and just over the bridge is the religious centre. The room had everything needed (fridge, kettle, coffeemaker, all of which aren’t common in a POR room). The bed was incredibly comfortable and the building has been renovated and modernized yet maintains both original and quirky charm. Staff are amazing and they go the extra step providing handy local info. They even go so far as providing a WhatsApp contact should help be required “after hours”. I highly recommend The Covelo, one of the best guesthouses I have ever visited. "
