"We stayed at the hotel Royal for 2 nights in October. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the centre, however it is up quite a steep hill, so if you have a lot of baggage it’s not ideal. The room itself was ok, not as nice as the one shown in pictures but the bed was comfortable. Sadly the room smelled of feet and we had no toilet seat and had request one.One of the main reasons for booking was the jacuzzi, however we later found it was €30 per couple per hour to use. No real danger but hardly ideal..The hotel itself is a grand old palazzo with many beautiful features, especially the interior gardens. It's only a 15 minute walk to the nicer parts of Catania. I'd stay here again."

"After spending time trying to find a reasonably priced hotel we found this little gem. Some reviews were negative some positive. We were stopping over for a couple of days so just needed what it said on the tin!! The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room basic, but very clean and air conditioned. Free soft drinks and water were added each morning, fresh towels and room cleaned even on a 2 night stay. Nice relaxing area and court yard for breakfast, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee...
