"This is the ideal place to experience the Douro. The house was very lovely with everything we needed. It’s perfect for a family visit! It was a bit chilly for the pool but it would be nice to use in the summer for sure! Our gracious host was very attentive and provided everything we needed."

"We spent a wonderful week in this lovely villa in August. Very well equipped and comfortable, and in a great location to explore the area - but note the roads are very windy and hilly so it can take a while to get places! The swimming pool is great with a fantastic view, and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the river. The owner Maria gave us some good tips on places to visit and made us very welcome. "Quinta de Recião has numerous properties. This review is for the one-bedroom cottage (Casa do Moinho - the Mill House) The Mill House is a beautiful property, hosted by beautiful people. The main room has kitchen, table, lounge, small TV and a fire. The separate bedroom has two single beds with an adjoining bathroom. "We had a lovely holiday in Alvarenga. Manuel and his family were warm and welcoming and we loved attempting to chat round the pool in French and Spanish! It's a beautiful area with green eucalyptus hills and the Geo park provided some interesting spots to visit.
