"The property was great, we had booked a deluxe double room which was on the 2nd floor and had views of the small woodland area. The room was nice sized and very comfortable. We had free access to the Spa, which was alright. Lots of kids in the swimming pool and clear signs on dos and donts for the sauna so people were entering with plastic slippers, walking boots and also bringing plastic water bottles inside - this can definitely improve. Maybe add a separate kids pool area so adults can enjoy the spa and have some clear rules for using sauna. Breakfast was good and the property decor was modern and fresh. The property does NOT have EV chargers so beware. The nearest one at ASDA is very slow and often out of order. For a property this size I would say its worth installing few EV chargers. St Austell lacks good restaurants. Short distance is Charlestown which has some amazing resturants around a beautiful harbour."

"Excellent stay at the Old Custom House over Easter weekend. We were able to get into our room early and were pleased with how nicely decorated and well equipped the room was. We also had a lovely view from the two windows over the very pretty harbour. The bed was very comfortable and although quite small, the room was full of character. Staff were friendly and welcoming at the hotel and the lady doing breakfast both mornings we were there was delightful. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was very good."

"We have enjoyed our stay v. much. Fortunately, we were able to walk up the steep stairs to our room, but this could be difficult for others less able. A sash on one of the windows was broken, so I did mention it. The food and service was excellent in the lovely restaurant. Staff very friendly and efficient. Thank you for such a delightful stay. "Overall, a great few days at this hotel. Negatives - mattress was a little hard for me. The afternoon tea was a little disappointing, the sandwiches were a little crispy around the edges where they hadn’t been made to order and the scones were overcooked. However, positives far outweighed the negatives. The receptionist was extremely friendly on arrival. Every member of staff we met were welcoming and friendly, going out of their way to please. The front of house for breakfast were exceptional. I had a massage, I had Merryn, this was the highlight of my trip and will stay with me forever, due to the conversation we had. What a special lady. ❤️ Overall, we will certainly return. We have come away refreshed and happy. "

"We were impressed with the warmth of the hospitality we received at this quaint hotel. The gentleman opened the pool just for us for a quick dip even though it was closing very soon. The pool was so warm , especially in the pouring rain - lovely fun. The staff were very smiley, genuine, friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend "
