"Great affordable stay at Vali by Village with a private en-suite room. Bedroom was a great size with a comfy bed and clean. Check in/out was very quick and easy, staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient location, quick 5 minute walk to the main beach with plenty of bars and restaurants around. "

"We were so looking forward to our Byron Bay holiday, having booked what appeared to be the perfect house online at a five-star price, so our expectations were naturally aligned. Although the property was in a perfect location, it was clear on arrival that the photos were taken many years ago, and that the house itself needed a really good clean! We were met with ant infestations, grime and cobwebs, and leftover rubbish from previous guests, in addition to mouse and gecko droppings throughout (including on picture ledges). Despite being advertised to include 'basic amenities', soap, coffee pods and other essentials were missing. The bed linen was also in an unacceptable condition, with stains and blood blotches indicating it was in desperate need of a proper wash. When feeding back these issues to the property managers, "East Coast Escapes", in Byron Bay, their deflection was not to acknowledge and apologise but to say "that's not our usual standard, its a fabulous location isn't it"!! ....The disconnect between the premium price and the substandard accommodation and management was deeply disappointing."
