Beautiful beautiful Peneda de Gerês National Park. There are loads of waterfalls, river gorges and hiking trails along with traditional Portuguese villages. Every hiker and waterfall chaser should make a visit. We stayed in Campo de Gerês and spent a couple of days driving and hiking in the area. It’s been raining every day on this trip but it’s lovely nonetheless.

"This is a huge property with all the amenities that you need, and more than that. It’s perfect for a family trip or just a road trip with friends, since it’s located near the highway and 15/20min by car to Ponte de Lima. Owners are really friendly and for sure will ensure that you’ve a warm stay with some local products. Conclusion: You’ll pay for a property that you don’t want to leave :)"

"Nous avons passé une semaine de rêve dans la maison d'Orlando et Helena (4 adultes, une ado de 17 ans et deux enfants de 8 ans) Ils nous ont très gentiment accueillis pour nous expliquer le fonctionnement de la maison. Leur ami Miguel, très gentil lui aussi, assure la traduction et il peut être contacté à tout moment pendant le séjour si vous avez une question. "I brought a group for a retreat and the villa set-up was perfect! Surrounded by nature, and so spacious, especially the outside, you can go for a walk inside the villa. Everybody loved the countryside setup of being in a village, although very private. We also loved the trees and big rocks and enjoyed stunning sunsets. We had a wonderful week! "Location perfect. Premium room with balcony - room spacious and beds comfortable.Very quiet. Balcony a lovely retreat after a busy day to chill in sun with city views. Staff very helpful- Pedro paricularly ( recommended good restaurant and successfully printed off bus tickets for us) Good breakfast. It would be nice if cafe had more selection of alcoholic drinks and was open later than 7 - a minor point as there are bars nearby and a pingo doce supermarket 5 mins walk away. We had brunch in adjoining cafe twice which had a good range and well priced. It would be useful if hotel staff could advise about where booked taxis could pick up as it is on a pedestrian street. Our Airpot transfer taxi did not turn up - fortunately the taxi rank is 5 mins walk away but we then paid almost double. Altogether a lovely stay in a good hotel. "
